  1. Probably a little bit of both. However, it'll never be right. It's best to go direct through the PA for a true reproduction of your acoustic signal.
  2. I don’t know if they would be suitable, but I’m impressed with my TourTech hard case and would hope their gigbags are as good. https://www.andertons.co.uk/acoustic-dept/acoustic-guitar-accessories/gig-bags-for-acoustic-guitars?#facet:30744573456166766758411111711411610199104&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:&
  3. I’m a Firecaster, twisted Firecaster.
  4. It’s a drive of an hour+ for anything for me. There’s Kenny’s in Dundee or Aberdeen and Guitar Guitar in Edinburgh or Glasgow. There may be others, but I’ve not ventured into the major conurbations since moving and the one in Perth closed some time back.
  5. Great to see some lesser known players cropping up in people’s choices.
  6. I fitted their P90s to my Epiphone Casino and they were an great upgrade, so much clearer and articulate and an absolute bargain.
  7. Tele meets Firebird, that ticks so many boxes for me.
  8. I don’t remember the exact date I started, but it was when dinosaurs roamed the Earth aka the ‘70s.
  9. Another joins the throng. Good to have you with us.
  10. Pedal GAS? That makes you sound like a petrol salesman. What sound shapers have caught your eye and inflamed your desire?
  11. Nice to see Richard Thompson getting a mention.
  12. There is an old ‘ what have you got?’ type threads, but not an actual all your guitars together. Therefore, in an effort to get some more traffic through the GC doors, post your ‘family portraits’ here. Here’s mine… L-R Heavily modified Squier CV Telecaster, modified Epiphone Casino Coupé, Epiphone EJ200 & Simon & Patrick Rosewood Pro.
  13. It's all quite civilised here, you can read all the new posts in not very much time at all. Have a browse and dive on in.
  14. I’ve used Northwest Guitars and Guitar Build UK in the past, good service from both.
  15. Turn off the compressor and see if the problem persists. If it goes away, it’s probably because the G is sending a hotter signal than the other strings and the compressor is gating it. Is It the same on both pickups? If it is, I’d be looking at either the nut, something loose on the bridge, if it’s not, then you have a faulty pickup. All in all, it sounds like a probable return to the shop.
  16. It could be nut height/action height, but if it’s only sharp in the lower register, I’d look at at the relief first. It might be that there is too much bow in the neck, causing sharp notes due to the stretch.
  17. This article seems to suggest that a Dunlop Echoplex delay is a good way to go. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/blog/2014/12/18/eddie-van-halen-gear-guide-get-the-brown-sound/
  18. Tele with a whammy bar is some folks’ ideal guitar.

  20. That’s me out of ideas. I imagine the only way to isolate the fault would be to wait until you get your Mac back and try the recording on that using GarageBand. If the fault persists, then it might well be the interface.
  21. Hmm, I was going to say are you direct monitoring, but then saw the photo. Sorry, dunno. Perhaps try going direct into the Focusrite to eliminate any amp/interface shenanigans.
