  1. £37 will get you a nice 3 string DIY kit.
  2. I was a drummer percussionist that had to stop playing back in 1999/ 2000 for medical reasons. I’ve got a few acoustic and electric bass guitars. I have arthritic fingers and recently took up the bass again as a form of hand and finger exercise and something to do with my son during lockdown.
  3. My son and I have been keeping the cardboard box recycling guys in work That’s for sure.
  4. Electronics route to switch and knobs on the back. Thats why I showed it was a Hardtail red Strat . It holds its own against some of my early 70s versions.
  5. Yeah that happens to be my favourite of the three. The Coil - Tapping Humbucker push pull facility is exceptional.. Saying that All three give my mates very expensive original Gibson’s a fookin good run for the money. I also love the extra cutaway design so people like me with short stubby fingers can get right down and bend strings without having to go to hospital after Probably the best £169 I’ve spent this year. I bought it a lovely case because it deserved it. I still might buy a white vintage version to complete the set.
  6. I’ve got some good friends in Stowmarket . To old to start gigging now tho.
  7. I watched the Danish Pete interview last week for the first time. Didnt know anything about Petes history before watching it.. Quite interesting.
  8. I’ve bought these HB guitars during lockdown.
  9. Yes they are both Harley Benton guitars. I’ve bought a few HB guitars during lockdown after a friend recommended them to me and after watching hours of YouTube videos on various models. The build quality and finish on everyone I’ve bought is outstanding and they all sound great and play really well. A couple just needed a few small adjustments and change of strings but most are great straight out the box and amazing value for money.
  10. I only started playing again because my son wanted an electric guitar and thought great something we can do in lockdown together. We have the same Marshall amplifiers and face time each other on iPads both amps you can play backing tracks through to play along with. Its been great fun even though my left hand hurts like hell most of the time.
  11. I’ve looked on PMT to compare prices a few times of late and have given up every time because there website is a pain in the arsenal to use . I did notice they’re not very competitive on prices. GAK in Brighton are great and fast next day delivery . Thomann also great service and fast free delivery when you spend £100 from Germany with UPS.
  12. I use a Behringer HELLBABE and love it. Unlike most conventional pedals, the HB01 has a fully optical control without mechanical controls and switches for wear-free pedal operation. A unique, spring-back pedal mechanism and a freely adjustable tilt resistance ensure maximum play comfort. The heel-down frequency can be adjusted via the range knob from 440 Hz to 250 Hz, which also makes this pedal perfect for electric basses! An additional fine-tune control is used to increase the frequency range of the control range for an incredibly brilliant and impressive sound. For a precise setting of the filter curve for a voice-like effect character, the pedal has a super-musical Q control. With the adjustable boost function, including on/off switch, you can effectively highlight your licks. Dual status LEDs for effect and boost activation at the back of the unit provide you with optimum control. Last but not least, our Ultra Low-Noise circuitry delivers an excellent sound quality.
  13. I’m 9 miles from Canterbury on the coast. Got into guitar playing again as something to do with my 15 year old son during lockdown. Started with a four string bass as exercise for my arthritic hands / Fingers. With some help from a good friend and my son My left hand hurts like hell But it’s the most fun I’ve had in years.
  14. Which ever strings you go for Don’t take all the old ones off in one go.
  15. The best video Lee has made was with his Dad telling the history story of how Anderson’s started. Everything other than that is sales oriented.
  16. Look on YouTube at women guitar players. The list is full of great female players from very young teenage middle age and older. They blow most males like me Away with how fast they move there fingers up and down a neck. They don’t need specially designed specific for female use built guitars. If they are good just like men They get shed loads of offers from companies. Female specific guitars won’t be a good business plan. Also you could get done for being sexist in this new age we live in
  17. ezbass, I guess that’s one way to explain a forum that doesn’t have much traffic
  18. BBC Radio 6 Music Is just about to play some Prince music never heard before.
  19. I’ve bought a few new guitars for my son and I to play with during lockdown. These two arrived yesterday. To hot yesterday to play them but will put them through there paces later this morning.
  20. Ive got lots of Behringer effects pedals and all work really well and are great value for money.
