Adders60 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Decided to get the Epi Les Paul 60’s Standard in Bourbon Burst I had looked at PRS but decided this is what I wanted. Out of the box the quality, setup was spot on and amazing for a £500 guitar. Sounds excellent and pickups are very good and sounds great clean and overdriven They have definitely improved since I owned an Epi Les Paul Plus Top Pro about 10 years ago this is as close to Gibson quality you can get without the price tag ! Awesome guitar 2 1 Quote

Adders60 Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Yes they match perfectly The guitar plays very well, one of the best set up out of the box guitars I’ve ever purchased Action is around 1.5mm which is impressive I think for a factory setup Intonation spot on too 1 Quote

EdwardMarlowe Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Impressive product from both guitar brands. It's been interesting watching Gibson repositioning Epiphone in the market, with the higher end Epis being markedly more expensive than was once the case. The higher price point does seem to have raised them to their full potential as more than just a "starter Gibson style", while remaining the affordable alternative to the Gibson line that's now for a lot of us far out of comfortable reach. In a sense it feels like they've created a MIM equivalent, albeit while retaining their Squier brand. I've sort of moved away from Gibson styles for the most part, and yet even so every so often they come out with new ones I could find very tempting! Very impressed with the PRS SE line. It's a brand I've long admired even if not quite to my aesthetic preferences, but the Silver Sky is a real winner for me. If I can get on with the neck on that, I can well see me owning one of those within the next decade or so. Quote
