Pedal order 🤔

Recommended Posts

Hello chaps,

I’ve taken my board to bits and taken a load of things off and I’m just putting it back together and looking to the best order.

I’ve got - Cry Baby -  Polytune 3 (set to buffer) - TC Spark - Big Muff - TS9+ - Klon clone - Tremocopter - TC analog delay - TC Reverb - then maybe into an old Alesis Microverb (which does sound great)

what do you think to that order? I’ve got a univibe type pedal I need to put in but I can’t work out where? And maybe an MXR Dynacomp and a Boss GE7. Also it is best to do higher gain into lower then lower still isn’t it?

I’ve got loads of other pedals but at the moment I’m after that Mayer/SRV/Sayce tone that we all are I reckon!

it’s all going into either a Rivera M60 or most likely a little class A 5w screamer in the house.

Any thoughts much appreciated!

I’d put the univibe before or after the trem pedal and the GE7 after those. As to the comp pedal, that rather depends on if you’re using as an effect (Summers/Gilmour vibe) or just to even things out. If as an effect, after the wah, if as ‘smoother’, just before the delay. But that’s just me, it’s what sounds good that matters and how all the fx play with each other.

Another question on pedal order...

I've decided what I need are two separate boards - one which will be purely an effects board, the other an alternative to an amp. I have a Joyo American Sound pedal I intend to use as a preamp, which I want to put through an A/B switch to let me use it with either a Mooer Baby Bomb power amp pedal, which could them be taken directly to a speaker or (in theory, if ever I play out of the house again) PA on the A channel, or on the B channel a pedal-format headphone amp. The idea would be to have also an overdrive pedal, which would be between the guitar and the preamp, and a reverb. No other effects for this board, this is purely to give the convenience of an easily transportable amp-alternative that can either be plugged in or used with phones. The plan as far as possible is to have them all screwed down onto the board (velcro if it's the only alternative), something no bigger than about eight by twelve. The big question here is where should I put the reverb in the chain so that it gives the impression of amp reverb... first? right before the preamp? or between the preamp and the A/B?
