  1. Nice I am not much on the reds, but I like the dual tones here
  2. I started Guitar at 54 years of age in Oct. or Nov. 2023, I got a first act given to me the ME952 (blue apple strat style) as far as I can get it traced. Then I assembled Swamp Thing (bexgears tele kit) I am mainly scales/spidering. But over the last 2-3 practice runs I found myself actually playing few easy bars/lines of music. But as soon as I hear some one else around back to scales and spidering IDK it is like my ZEN or if one prefers Matthew 6 when thou prays do so in secret and be rewarded openly. As I stated I do not know when I am on the guitar alone it is almost Zen, Religious, Spiritual when others arrive it is kinda back in the shell sort of thing. Anyone Else?
  3. Welcome, and actually yes more so tips of where strings hit done it twice 1) Cheap strings that came with Guitar and a Diamond string I purchased. I do not know your set up or what you are using. Now I have some with my diabetes that is a different kind of pain that I manage
  4. In the world of electrics, my opinion & my gathering wood/solid has no placement, pickups are doing the work. So tone not so much however weight, is a different story. I know not much help
  5. E-Bay eh ur um ya said it all with just E-bay-Auction- Like you a bad taste was left, I avoid the auctions
  6. Strap/Picks chord buddy, OK useable Strap and Picks, That Chord Buddy as seen on shark tank, as seen on TV, as seen on you tube, do yourselves a favor don`t just do not. 1) If ya finally get it to fit properly, without silencing other strings or the strings on the same chord being played 2) constant readjustment of chord buddy so that it does not do this. I am talking between chords in the same bar/song or chorus. 3) If it is not being adjusted then your putting it back on.
  7. IF I DOODIT I GIT THE WHUPPIN........I DOODODIT Well now the search continues, hahahahahahahahahah <waves hand these are not the STRATS your looking for> hahahahahahahahahahah oooooh man I am in trrouble
  8. Home Practice amp, Blackstar fly 103, or anything 10w and under NOW that is home practice amp, There is even a plug n play style it is the amp, speaker plugs into jack about the size of an altoids tin I guess, Viable for home practice not that one could not use at a small gathering say 10-15 people and still perform well. Keeping in mind practice amp.
  9. Acoustic VS Electric I am the new guy, fresh meat, noob, cherry and know not enough yet. Being said I believe comparing the two electric vs acoustic, there is NO UNBIASED comparison. inefficiencies in both, yet both have strengths. It is almost like asking beef steak tomato or deep fried dill pickle, yes please both are good.
  10. Dang it man, your right at PRICE POINT for what it is and does for a home Guitarist, in my searches I have seen worse, at higher prices. I copied, it warrants further investigation
  11. It is ok, I found out sometime after post they (Khoneim) is a Korean made, I am not saying they are best by no means, they do work better than some and nothing
  12. found it today after post of course, a Korean Company, eh I like em enough might stick with a while
  13. Are made by whom? I have ordered, used they are ok for new players inexpensive enough feel decent, sound good I know some are like so what is the issue? I just wondered as we often do made by? Are these a like an economy D`Addario, a Yamaha? or a stand alone so I researched well let`s say it just added to my curiosity found well rumors on redit then and a company of DATA restorations, upgrades I know DATA is not strings or instruments. Curiosity driven not that I wont use them a pack of 8 sets runs me like $25 no complaints, Idol Curiosity in the equipment that is available.
  14. How do I like the green, nice build mine is a first run for me BEXGEARS kit. For the NOOBS, FNGs, Cherry`s I will recommend a kit, don`t matter BexGears, Leo Jaymz, Harley Benton, Tele or Strat find ya a reputable company offering the package at what you consider a reasonable price tag, go ape make it yours. you guy`s that have been building a while hey drive on love those to.
  15. Being a FNG, NOOB I have to point to this direction also. I do double check and recheck other sources I find him spot on, on point. and YUP good old experimentation.
  16. I concur If a shop buy one is happy walking out the door, on-line it is a buyer beware situation and how well you "trust" seller. I have seen first hand a $1200 Gibson turn out to be a $30 Chibson playing make believe, Buyer was out the cash, greenbacks, dinero, rubies, francs, pounds and the seller was in the wind everything associated with seller shut down and they were gone. If one is going to be spending Ludacris amount be in store hands on. This on line and across the pond so to speak no just do not do it
  17. I agree wiring switched/flipped as per dad3353. I know like swamp thing, you gotta do you I just never considered switching pots seen whole control plates spun to meet desires of user, switch at bottom knobs at top sorta deal.
  18. Huh ugh, new pickguard with Alnicov 5`s saving the old pickups as/for or exchanging whole new pick guard all switches replaced, I am in agreement with dad3353 and others a ton of work for accident prone off/on, why run through that amount of rewiring creating headaches later. But hey I will stand beside your choice to do it if, you chose
  19. MATT P with the wiring diagrams best road, I had similar issue bridge pickup wildfire (drive) simple re-soldering cleared it up. Cold solder or cold weld I am suspecting was the issue. one just never really knows, I start simplest possibilities and work out wards
  20. MMM Interesting read, from my reading and observations getting everything in play and checking nut against strings and first fret measuring with feeler gauge's first step, nut files for adjustment second. I have also seen "scratch" starts where new nuts were sized from ground level so to speak. Me I would opt for measurements and files first. But I generally try and make it easy on me.
  21. Something tele`s me I will be learning more and sharing some.
  22. NICE, I am currently beginning have not yet acquired a Harley Benton but from all I have seen and read very decent guitars at a decent price, Next Kit maybe??
