Thanks - that Laney looks interesting, though the price appears to be quite a bit higher than the Harley Benton.
Apparently there's a Vox AC4 available as well, though that lacks reverb.

The Laney looks to have gone up in price recently. My local shop was doing them for around £379 a while ago, but are now up to £439. It does look really nice in the flesh and sounds great (to me). When I was trying my guitar I played through one and loved the sound of it. As I said, the Harley Benton is supposedly a copy of the Laney, so could be worth a punt if you do want a cheap tube amp. It gets decent reviews.

To follow on from this comment, I stopped guitar for a while as I had other things to do, but now I'm trying again.

I'm still wondering about a small valve amp.
Bugera do a 5w combo which seems to be well received. They also do a 5w head which I could (presumably) plug into my 1x12 Orange bass cab.
Harley Benton's 15w combo looks interesting, as does their 5w one, though I'd prefer something with reverb built in to avoid faffing with pedals.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with any of these?

The HB TUBE 15 Celestion has built in spring reverb, as does the Laney Cub Super 12(which I believe the HB is based)

Hmm... I'm not sure that this new member is not a 'bot, simply promoting this product. I looked it up on t'web, and made the mistake of playing the promo video. I learned little except to turn down my speakers as quickly as possible. As for the product: I'm 72, nearly 73, and unlikely to have anything to 'share' with the K-Pop community. It's really, really, not for me. I'm out.

I did wonder, with it being a first post. Hopefully, it's not a bot and will contribute, but I'm doubtful. I didn't even click on the attachments and just googled the guitar instead.

Certainly makes a statement. I like a guitar that doesn't look entirely traditional, and dare I say, boring.

Might need to have a disclaimer when you gig with it though for people with photo-sensitivity. You might get headaches like a strobe light after looking at it for any length of time!!🤣

I'm just a bedroom player, so I'll just have to wear shades. 😁

  5. I'm away from base for a few days and brought my guitar with my, but when I arrived I realised that I'd forgotten my amp. Now, I'm not too far away an it would only be a 40 minute round trip to go and get it, but I have access to an acoustic guitar while I'm here, so I'm not bothered. However, I happened to be scrolling through Facebook yesterday and came across this being advertised NAMM 2023: Positive Grid unveils the Spark Go, a 5-watt modeling amp that fits in your pocket | Guitar World. I decided to take a punt on it, as it's something I can slip into my guitar bag if I am on the move. It doesn't ship until late May, but I'll leave a review after I receive it. It can be used as a Bluetooth speaker too. At the minute it's on an early bird offer for £89 + VAT (£105 in total). After that it will be £129 +VAT.

    Awesome build!!

I’m considering doing a telecaster inspired reso build bit like this one

I've never owned or even played a resonator before but in you experience would having the knobs and pickup selector on the cover plate effect the sound at all? Cheers Jim

Will you make a gingham scratchplate? Please? Someone has to!! 😆
