  1. Welcome Simon!
  2. Welcome. Your Cort looks very similar to my Ibanez AZES40. Good luck with it.
  3. Welcome Chris, from the Belfast direction.
  4. Pick up manufacturers charging more for special tone wax
  5. Not what you think...yikes!! “Well this is a first…”: Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus says it was so hot in Saudi Arabia that his pickups melted | MusicRadar
  6. Sounds like a real bargain. I had a quick look on Reverb and other Cox Classix electric guitars are selling from about £150 second hand. Obviously, they aren't covered in stickers with repainted headstocks, but your is now in the same condition after a little work. Well done.
  7. You can get a pretty good Ibanez new for that sort of money, so you should be able to get one of their higher spec models for the same price, second hand. hard to go wrong with a Yamaha too.
  8. Excellent !
  9. That's a new one on me
  10. Welcome DoaA
  11. Welcome UD.
  12. Welcome Kai.
  13. Nothing. Don't really need anything.
  14. Welcome Dewayne. How long did they wait before he could come down from the tree?
  15. I always associate him with the white/ivory one.
  16. I'm another one who doesn't like gold tops. I just don't really like gold in general. I've nothing against PRSs, though. My guitar tutor has a couple and they sound great.
  17. Welcome Rosie
  18. Sounds really good. Dad confirmed what I suspected about the lyrics not having been written by a native English speaker. It's not they are bad; one or two lines just don't sound like something a native speaker would say. There's no way I could write a song in a different language, so good job to the writer. I was into metal in my teens and can spot some influences like Iron Maiden. Great job, well done.
  19. Welcome!
  20. Welcome from another crap guitarist/bassist
  21. Welcome Matt. That's a quare snazzy setup.
  22. I wouldn't worry too much about whether a guitar has a tremolo arm or not for your first guitar (strictly speaking, it's a vibrato system, not a tremolo). Trems can cause issues with guitars staying in tune - not always, but some times. i notice that the Schecter has a rosewood fretboard and a graphite nut. Some people prefer the look of rosewood (and, if they are to believed the sound) and a graphite nut would be good for tuning as the strings are less likely to get stuck. It's all going to be down to personal preference - how the guitar feels. I've never played Schecter, but I do own two Ibanez and they are both very good quality and I like the feel of them.
  23. If you want to get an acoustic guitar, I can recommend these. https://matchettsmusic.com/products/adam-black-o2-t-with-gig-bag As a trave5guitar they are a bit smaller, so would be the ideal size for your son. I got one for my daughter. They look and feel really nice, sound good and come with a good gig bag.
  24. You could also look at some of the Harley Benton bundles. If you want an electric guitar, you can get them with a small amp and accessories. Don't be put off by the low price. I got one of their basic models and it was excellent. The amp won't be fantastic, but it will get him going until you can afford a better one, plus it won't be too loud, so shouldn't distract everyone else in the house.
