Here's my take on a Firecaster/Telebird (I can't decide what to call it!?!)
Its going to be relic'd slightly as its made out of scrap wood the back is made out of an old pine floor joist from a local church hall that is being renovated and the top is the sides from my little boys old bed
I've mocked up how it will look
My next build is going to be a Jagcaster that is going to be made out of some more reclaimed materials except it is going to be oak topped..........

I think it’s a kind of sanding sealer
On my Ibanez I just sanded it with 80 grit till it was all removed then switched to 240 to smooth it all off be warned tho it throws up a hell of a lot of dust doing that way........

If I’m correct I think that Damage Control are the same people that make Strymon Pedals
There's a few video about it on you tube that might be worth s watch??..........

@Jimothey made one over on BC. Knowing his level of lunacy and skill he probably designed it from scratch, mined and refined his own materials and then built something worthy of the best of the best boutique effects maker.
I wish my electrical skills are that good!!
I just bought a PCB off eBay and sourced the parts from Rapid Electronics and put it together with a few mods from the original spec
Its a clone of the original DOD 250 Overdrive/Preamp
@Si600 I’m not that bad am I? I just make questionable colour choices most of the time............

One of the sets of pickups have finally arrived but I had to re order standard Humbuckers instead of the P90’s as they never arrived!! I’m going to fit them in ‘Ole Smokey’ also I’ve kinda changed my mind on the pickup config on ‘The Bulleit’ I’m going to do it with normal tele style pickups and I’m going to fit a cheaper version of the Bigsby tremolo as well.............

1. Print the image mirrored so it will be the right way up when placed face down on the body
2. Water down some PVA glue and coat the printed side of the paper liberally
3. Leave to dry overnight
4. Once dry wet the paper and rub gently with your finger till the paper starts coming away to leave just the image but if you rub too hard the image will come off as well
5. When all the paper and white residue is removed either coat it again with watered down PVA or I used danish oil then leave to dry
Hope that makes sense?

I do like the way this Tele's going! Only question is: will it cover your picking hand with rust when you play?
No it’s been oiled to seal it but I cut a new pickguard that I haven’t really relict it as much
I've managed to do a bit more on them
I can’t decide if I prefer the tele with a pickguard or not?

I thought I’d try it with a galvanised pickguard
but it looked a bit too shiny so I sanded it a little bit then gave it a bath in some brick cleaner and then washed it with T solution and then it came out a lovely rusty looking colour which I thought was in keeping with the style of the guitar
Now just waiting on the rest of the parts for both of them but I’m probably going to do a Les Paul style pickguard out of the galvanised as well..............

Here’s the body after a couple of coats of tinted Danish Oil on the sides and plain Danish Oil on top, I’m going to sand the top back a little bit so the colour will probably lighten a bit..........
I’m now in two minds whether to bother with the fake branding or just do it like a standard barncaster with a pickguard
I’m thinking for the pickguard either aged White or Black???
Opinions please??

Got both bodies cut this morning
I've decided to make the fake branding slightly smaller than my mock-up
I need to make up some ageing solution to try and get the sides the same colour as the top I’ve read that mixing white vinegar with some bits of wire wool will make it go the kinda silvery colour but I’ll see how it comes out.............

Tele build started

I've started gluing up the body for a 2 humbucker Tele today
The top is going to be a fake barrel top style of a local distillery called Penderyn Distillery which their barrels are white topped with the branding stenciled on so I've decided to do the same....
The back is Pine which is going to be stained dark-ish brown so it will have a nice contrast?.......
