I see I haven’t posted here since 2023 when I put up my Taylor 12 string which I have since sold. Replaced with a Taylor Grand Pacific 517e Builders Edition. Matt finish wild honey burst.

That’s really nice  @sundayguitar. Gold top has a great heritage, Les Pauls look cool in gold. 

It’s look like no one mentioned Hank B. Marvin and the red Stratocaster or Buddy Holly and his Strat.

At those prices go for it, they’ll be going in the new year especially if a tariff war starts between US & EU/U.K.

I’m pleased to see it has a tunomatic type bridge not the awful bit of wood with fret wire slotted in that early Hofners had. I had a Club 40 as must first ‘decent’ guitar.

I think @Dad3353 is about right on value. When I was looking for a quality acoustic last year I was offered a similar guitar but well worn for £1750. Hopefully if yours is mint you should make at least that.

There’s a Big Baby with internal pickup for sale over on the sister site Basschat for £400, bargain as it’s brand new.

I owned a Washburn Travel guitar for a while, but I did find it lacking in tone. I have travelled with my Yiari parlour guitar by plane, it fits the overhead. I don’t think a collapsible would appeal to me. Sorry.

You probably should be comparing the Martin with a Taylor GT Mini which does have internal pickup as an option. Excellent guitars.

Sire now do a “Larry Carlton” series. There’s a 2nd hand T3 tele style for £229 @  Anderson’s.

Your reactions are similar to mine, definitely a meh guitar and not one to rush out and buy, it’s relatively expensive. The Victory Bass had a brief moment of popularity but I can’t remember seeing anyone playing the original guitar version.

That’s certainly a bit different.

You gained a skill, perhaps in the future you can help sort out a friends guitar.

Gibson have introduced a new version of the Victory (does anyone remember it from the 80’s?) It’s not so much a reintroduction but a new guitar loosely based on the shape and using the name. 
With a price tag of around £2k will they catch on or is it another expensive Gibson mistake?

The HB is a rip off of the Taylor T5Z shape, but Taylor do not make it with nylon strings.

I had a Floyd Rose on  Washburn guitar back in the day. Didn’t use te term and had blocked with a piece of wood which I think was ebony. Certainly a hard wood.  No effect on tone that I could detect.

On a recent visit to Snowshill Manor I spotted this guitar in the room full of an incredible array of string, wind and brass instruments which also included several harp guitars, least that’s what I think they were. But it was this beast that most caught my eye.

You’re the 2nd person who’s posted about a Zager on here recently and I’ve never heard of them. Can you provide more info please.

You've got a guitar you enjoy so just stick with it and enjoy a peaceful home. Life’s too short and divorce too expensive.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have experimented with the Ultrabass setting on my Behringer V-amp and it does drop the lower strings without seeming to affect higher notes. It is an octave divider by another name. However the sound coming out of the octave down strings is pretty much a fart, if you’ll pardon the expression.

I think I’ll just live with no bottom end.

I’ve got to play acoustic soon without a bass player ( which I am anyway ) so I would like to create something underneath my chords. Is there a pedal which would create a bass part without needing pre- programming whilst I play guitar?

I’m probably biased but ask yourself this question, Taylor is an acoustic guitar maker with production in their own factories in the US & Mexico. Fender is an electric guitar maker who have acoustics made for them and given the Fender brand somewhere in Asia( probably China). Which is likely to be better?
