I've seen people doing it since the 90s at least. Best tone was a guy in St Paul's tube station in the run up to Christmas about twenty years ago or more, who had an old (pre-1980) battery-powered Vox amp of some sort.
Course, some of the official busking spots on the tube I think even have power sockets now.Nice!..
I'm from a small town, (burton upon Trent). In the town canter they are not many hot spots for busking, but I've only seen people busk in the same spot with an acoustic.
I was planning to take my SPARK amp as its great for jamming with backing tracks and connectivity via Bluetooth. I've seen a nice BOSS amp that's in my budget for busking, but i'd like something that could at least have an AUX connection or a Bluetooth connection driven amp.

Definitely a thing and has been so for quite some time. Battery powered amps seem to be the standard modus operandi.
Thanks buddy, i'll look at some of those in a bit!..

Hi all, I thought I'd might ask about some general knowledge about busking with electric guitars, is it a thing?.. Also how would you power up? Generator, but aren't those things noisy?..
Hope you are all well..

wow Burton-on-Trent. i went to college there in the late 70's and there wasn't much of a live music scene there to my recollection. What was the live scene like pre Covid?

Hi all, I'm Imran, aka IbanezImy.
I've been playing and teaching myself guitar for 6 years on and of. But loving every moment of it. I'm a lefty with an Ibanez S Series.
This is my guitar and Marshall amp. My amp is so awesome. Basically here to make friends and find local ones to jam with and learn new stuff. Excited to be part of the community.
cheers

Thank you for the amazing feedback comment, some advise, take breaths in between phrases, take each phrase into sections or bite size them, if your getting into soloing like myself, just play as slow as possible to start of, then work your way up with what time you have! Keep rocking my friend!
