  1. What is your budget? I started with a Harley Benton TE-20 set that came with an amp, from Thomann. The amp was just OK. It didnsound fantastic and stopped working after a couple of years. The guitar is very good, especially considering it only costs about £68. The neck feels really nice. The finishing on the fret ends could be better, but they aren't too bad and I don't notice them when playing. The tuners do a good job. They don't feel great in operation but they work. The height adjustment screws on the bridge stick out quite a bit and dig into my hand if I have it resting on the bridge. I got a Harley Benton TE-62 after a while. It looks and feels better. The frets are finished better, the fretboard is nicer, the tuners are better and the bridge is better. I still play the TE-20 and sometimes prefer the tone of it. It cost £138.
  2. Check out Justin Guitar. He has loads of very good YouTube videos and also has a website with a community on it where you can post recordings for critique.
  3. Hi Ruby

  5. Hi @enzothebaker
  6. I'm not a very good guitarist, but I saw a nice guitar that I liked, tried it and bought it. It wasn't a terribly expensive guitar (about £459 I think), but for me it was quite expensive, especially considering the guitar I already had was a £68 Harley Benton. I play both guitars. I would never get to the stage where I would live my life in such a way that I would hurt other people just to get money. If I had a big win on the lottery, I would maybe buy a nice Fender, but I don't think I would spend the crazy amounts that some people spend.
  7. It won't make you a better player. A good player will be able to play good music on a cheap (but well set up) guitar, but a poor player won't get a good tune out of an expensive guitar. However, if you can afford it, it can be nice to have expensive things just for the sake of having them. If I had the money, I could buy a Ferrari. It won't make me a better driver, but I might enjoy driving it.
  8. Is it Huchings or Hutchins? Hutchins are English made, from what I can see. I can't find too much about an acoustic Uno guitar, but from what I can find, I don't think there's a lot of value in it.
  9. I'd say, at that price point, you'd be pretty lucky to get a well matched instrument.
  10. The semi-hollow inlays are pretty tasty looking...
  11. Bloody hell, Myles! Could you not have given us an easy one for your first post? I think i prefer the shape of the semi-hollow, but love the colour of the single-cut.
  12. Welcome Tom!
  13. To be honest, the clip is just too short to give any decent critique.
  14. Y'alright?

Are you wanting to sell them or just get more information about them? Can you give us details about them and maybe post some pictures?
  16. Sadly, John Mayall has passed away at the age of 90. The roster of musicians who played with the Bluesbreakers is incredible with Eric Clapton, Peter Green and John McVie being some of the most notable names. There will be one heck of a jam going on in heaven today.

What sort of help do you need with them?
  18. Maybe post this over on Basschat.co.uk and you might get a more definitive answer. But the guys who have posted are probably right.
  19. It looks like it might be an Epiphone SG EB-0 bass. (Obviously, Epiphone. Hoping I've got the right model). I don't recognise any of the signatures though.
  20. Welcome Ciderman. Are you local?
  21. Welcome Ray!

  23. Hi Matt!
  24. I wouldn't have guessed it in a million years.
