Total Plectrums

  1. Too kind. I noticed it said "Delia" on the TRC and it was a Google from there
  2. I believe it's a First Act Delia. Reminds me a bit of a Hofner Verithin (sp?).
  3. Ooh, sounds interesting! I get the impression there are more acoustic or electro acoustic guitars in this price range than solid bodies.
  4. Can't help specifically, but have a look at the ESP site here - there's a manual in the ESP support section which addresses truss rod adjustment. It doesn't specify which model, but guess they could all have the same design?
  5. Thanks! Probably looking in the region of £300 to £500.
  6. How's the neck on this Frank? I usually find Strats a little skinny in fretboard width, but understand HBs give you more real estate?
  7. I have an Alvarez acoustic bass and a lovely thing it is too. However, I did have to send the first one back as there were issues with unequal volume response between the strings, which I was going to have sorted locally, until my tech guy pointed out the bridge was off centre. The replacement is much better, but the E string peg started coming out after restringing. Turns out the pegs lean forwards (ie towards the headstock). The peg has been fettled and seems stable enough now. So in summary, lovely sounding and looking guitar, perhaps lacking a bit of attention to detail in the assembly process. I'd still buy another Alvarez, but would probably go for buying in person.
  8. Thanks guys, some good advice. I do have a little old Marshall 15w practice jobbie kicking around somewhere, but there is something pleasingly organic(?) about just being able to pick up and play.
  9. ...a guitar obviously! Hi, there - a couple of apologies: 1. I've posted without introducing myself. Bit rude. 2. I'm a moonlighter from Basschat. I had a guitar at an earlier age than my first bass, but currently find myself without a proper 6 string. Unless you count the old Kimbara gathering dust in the attic and requiring a restring and probably a set of new tuners. Currently arguing with myself over whether to get a nice electro acoustic or a semi acoustic. I figured signing up here might help (in encouraging me to buy one of each and a solid body electric to boot!).
  10. The Yamaha site is a bit vague on the differences, you might be better looking at the Pacifica page on say, Gear4music's site. There's a full description for each model. Don't think there's much difference... https://www.gear4music.com/yamaha/guitars-basses-amps/electric-guitars/pacifica
  11. They stock them at Gear4music in York I think (you're Hull based...?), you just need to ring them with a day or twos notice to make sure they've got one on the showroom floor. The stock on their website is for online sales, so could be in their York shed or their European one.
  12. If I had to pick 3 guitarists... Today's would be: Donald Roeser aka Buck Dharma, Johnny Marr, Jonny Greenwood. With the following honourable mentions: Wilko Johnson, Mick Green, Peter Green, Nick Drake, Richard Thompson, John McGeoch, Ed O'Brien....
