So the cable in pc and amp simulator will not work?

Hello everyone! So I got a Washburn guitar from my cousin other day with no cables or amp or sound card. I bought 2 meter 3.5 to 3.5 mm jack cable and 3.5 female to 6.3 male adapter. I was wondering if I could simulate amp with my pc so I get like a real sound effect from electric guitar? I cant buy sound card or real amp btw. Can anyone guide throught this process? I am all new at this. Thank you
