Is it barre chords you are having problems with? I found I lacked finger strength initially & had to concentrate to make sure there was no buzzing I'm not perfect yet but practice it is naki g it better,my first barre I git right was Bminor as it cropped up in a song I really wanted to learn & couldn't cheat it!

Thanks.
I am following the justin guitar beginners course but have also booked lessons.
I'm doing exactly that & have my first lesson on Monday.. technique & practice structure is what I most need from 1 to 1 lessons plus being accountable in between lessons!

My 18 year daughter has decided that she'd like to learn guitar, and I've said that I'd sort one out for her. Only problem is, I know absolutely nothing about 6 string guitars! Basses I'm ok with. Acoustic 6 strings, I haven't a clue.
I went onto Thomann and there appears to be lots of choice under £200.... Yamaha, Fender etc. Can anyone recommend (or even better, sell me!) a decent quality acoustic suitable for a beginner? I don't want to spend a fortune, but equally I don't want to get some horror guitar that's terrible to play...
Thanks in advance!
Hi! As I'm pretty new to guitars I don't have a huge amount of experience that I can draw on to give advice, but Richards Guitars are doing the LAG brand starting at £199.. Richard has every guitar he sells fully checked & set up so you won't get a lemon, here's a new vid he's done on those.

Hi all.
I am a total newcomer will proceed slowly.I have bought a s/h telecaster from a guitar shop after trying a oustics and electrics. It fits me well and It will do all i want.(for now).
I am open to any tips to get going particularly how to get my fingers where they need to be on chords.getting there but sometimes I touch the string below.presume eventually my fingers will become more supple.
Welcome aboard! I've found justinguitar.com really useful, it's a fully free online guitar course starting from the very basics which includes techniques specific to the issues you mention about fingers touching other strings, good luck!

Has anyone been through his guitar course? I've been watching his youtube videos & find his stuff really engaging, he also does some slightly off topic vids, a recent one being on the subject of copyright & how it affects him...

Hello! I've been bitten by the guitar bug at the age of 46 having been able to play very basic stuff for years. Currently working my way through Justinguitar.com beginners course & will start actual lessons in 2 weeks.. I've been having fun with the app Tonebridge which gives you loads of guitar tone/song settings as 'pedals' also using an iRig but suffering with some latency issues as I'm using an android phone.
My guitars: an acoustic 'Gemini@ model by Vintage which can be both strung as baritone & standard I have it as standard & a Prs custom 24 that I managed to get for a steal!
Cheers!
