  1. This wonderful guitar has only been owned by me for a month and I bought it new directly from YAMAHA. I’m selling to purchase new recording equipment. As it is like new, I have no issues to report at all, so here are the manufacturers details The perfect combination of modern inspiration and timeless design Inspired by our iconic 'red label' guitars of the 1960s, our new FG Red Label folk models blend modern inspiration with a timeless design. Featuring a classic semi-gloss finish and high-quality components, FG Red Label guitars capture an authentic vintage aesthetic. The mahogany back and sides are paired with a premium Sitka spruce top which has been treated with our Acoustic Resonance Enhancement ('ARE') process for genuine aged-wood tone and sustain. A new scalloped-bracing design delivers plenty of volume, while the groundbreaking Atmosfeel three-way pickup system provides a natural acoustic sound when amplified. The new FG Red Label guitars sound and feel like you've been playing them for years - right from the very first note. 1960s aesthetics and modern craft, refined over 50+ years of Yamaha guitar development Atmosfeel pickup and preamp system provides uniquely natural plugged-in sound New scalloped bracing patterns provide a warm, powerful tone with deep lows and rich harmonics ARE treatment imparts the sound and sustain of aged wood All-solid construction with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back & sides Ebony fingerboard & bridge
  2. Hi guys, I am a double bass player active on the sister Basschat forum, which is where I heard of this guitar forum. I have made an impulse purchase with this vintage 1950s archtop, and then my laptop decided to give up the will to live, so I am planning to sell this to finance part of the laptop replacement. I purchased the guitar from a shop here in Scotland called Vintage, rare and retro guitars, feel free to Google it, it’s a great shop. Since purchasing, I played it for a few hours and added a set of Flatwounds D’Addario 11s. This is the information from the shop, copied and pasted: “Dating from the late 1950s we think this beautiful cutaway archtop guitar is a Rodebald Hoyer. Fully refurbished, including a neck reset, this archtop is once again set up for playing for another 60 years. The hardware is not original - modern tailpiece, floating bridge and scratch plate. A floating pickup has also been added, controlled by volume and tone controls with new jack input added to lower side of the guitar. The machine heads may be original to the guitar - certainly of the correct vintage. Nice low action across the fretboard (courtesy of the zero fret and the neck reset) with plenty of adjustment available on the floating bridge.” Goes without saying, but this is a guitar that has seen 60 years worth of this world, hence it is not pristine. However, it is in surprisingly good shape and as you can see in the photos, there is no damage of any kind. I have a gig bag for the guitar, but not a hard case, hence collection is very much preferred. I would consider posting it however. I do have a box and I will do my best to pack it well, but it needs to be understood that postage is (as always) the responsibility of the buyer.
