ribbetingfrog Posted January 13, 2020 Share Posted January 13, 2020 (edited) These speakers get a really bad rep on forums but I picked one up on eBay for £25 to upgrade my Laney Ironheart 112. the stock HH custom speaker was pretty muddy but it’s a really nicely made cabinet. due to the bad reviews I was reticent to order the seventy 80 but I’m so glad I did! massive improvement over the stock speaker, may be the best £25 I have ever spent! Gone is the low end muddiness and now crystal clear joy to thoroughly let my little valve head do it’s thang Playing more distortion and crunch the Celestion is actually not quite as nice as the stock HH but not a huge difference, but on cleans it’s night and day.
