Hi. I would suggest starting with an electric guitar, acoustic still a great passage, but on an electric you can play a variety of sounds, including acoustic sounds. It will also be a little easier on you fingers. Unfortunatly I can't reply to your question about the acoustic guitar to start with. Andrea

Hi, I'm new to this forum, I hope I'm in the right place. I have a vox pathfinder 10w amplifier, with integrated distortion, I have no pedals yet. I'm planning to mod it and add a footswitch, but not a distortion pedal. Is there a way to keep the same volume when switching from clean to overdirive, without having to adjust the volume on the amp? Thank you
