I'm also curious about players' experiences with Teles equipped with humbuckers as opposed to single-coils.
Thanks!

I use a Telecaster Custom Deluxe, has 2 Fender Wide Range Humbuckers, each with independent volume & tone, 3-way pickup selection . I play punk and rock on it mind, so not the music stated, but the ‘buckers certainly warm up the Tele, the sound is still in a similar area tho, not as rich as a Gibson. Given that many jazz guitarists use those big hollow bodied guitars with humbuckers I’d reckon my Tele would be fine for jazz - not that I’m likely to do so, far too complicated for me.

The Classic 57 is a good pickup and sounds great when played loud. At quieter volumes I thought it was a tad middy and insipid sounding but then I was using it for rock. The Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck sounds nice on clean sounds, much crisper to my ears.

Probably need loosening if anything

So, just got myself a Fender Mex Tele 72 Deluxe - 2 humbuckers, vol/tone for each, big 70s Strat style headstock. In a very fetching black/black/maple to match with my Precision & Jazz.
First impressions are I love it, it’s a bit quirky, a Tele with 2 humbuckers and that big headstock. Also has a Strat style tummy-cut which is very nice in comparison to a regular Tele. Has a 12 inch radius board which is a new one for me, never played one of those before.
It badly needs a new set of strings. And a new amp to play it through. Luckily the ‘bay has been there for me, so once all delivered I can be more objective on sounds but I think this is going to be ‘my’ guitar. I’m a Fender man through and through, I just play them better than Gibson’s, but prefer humbuckers to single coils. This Tele therefore is a meeting of both parts of what I prefer.

Which SD pickups did you install, am intrigued as usually in guitars SD are a real improvement on stock.

Depending on volume levels required, the MG range as Si600 says above is very good for that type of sound. I have the 1x8 15watt version and it has more volume than I can use at home (unless being inconsiderate of my neighbours). Coupled with my Les Paul Studio it sounds just like I want, that classic Les Paul/Marshall sound.
