  1. My version is a Kevin Romang cover. The tabs are available free from Phil McGarrick at - https://philmcgarrick.co.uk/dbo_links... I recorded this number using my Fender '57 Stratocaster (57/62 bridge pick up) into Vintage VST Host software, available to download free at - https://vintage-sounds.freeforums.net/
  2. I'm selling my fairly recently acquired 1987 Fender Japan '62 Reissue Strat to raise funds for a Bass purchase. I'm going to concentrate on my bass playing for a while and I'm really just not a Strat guy, if I'm honest. It's a 1987 STD-62, from the acclaimed Fujigen factory in Japan, in "Vintage White", though the colour presents more as "Butterscotch". Serial number is E713105. Price reduced to £725. A bargain!! This guitar is unmolested, with original electronics and hardware, other than a new nut that was installed a few months ago and an additional tremolo spring. It plays superbly, with a nice low action and was professionally set up by Torbay Guitar Repairs at the same time as having the nut replaced (with a hand cut bone nut). The pickups are Alnico, as you can see from the pictures. The fingerboard has lovely rolled edges and the frets are in really good condition. The build quality on this guitar is superb, as are the tones. I've got it set up with Rotosound 10s and the bridge is currently "decked". Condition-wise, it's by no means pristine and bares some battle scars. It won't appeal to anyone into mint, just out the box guitars. This one has had a life and is displaying just the right amount of patina for a 35 year old instrument. It's also by no means "heavily relic'd" either. It's a lovely instrument, but it's just not "me" at this point in time, so I'm letting it go to someone who will play it. I would be open to trades for a similarly priced Precision Bass. Comes with the original 80's gig bag. I would prefer not to post the guitar, as I have no hardcase or packaging but I would be happy to meet somewhere, within reason. Cheers, Chris.
  3. Squier Hardtail Strat 2020 Superb condition, in full working order, with lockable hard case. Crafted in Indonesia by Cor-Tek. Hardtail bridge for increased stability, single high-output humbucker pickup, single volume control knob. Poplar body, black Polyurethane finish, bolt-on Maple neck, Vintage-style”C” shape neck profile, Indian Laurel fingerboard, 9.5” radius, 21 medium jumbo frets. Will also consider cash + trades. Collection from South Woodford, London, E18. Social distancing & masks to be strictly adhered to.
  4. Super Rare 1992 American Fender Stratocaster HSS Floyd Rose. Rock Dream! No hardcase but it’ll come with a brand new thick foam gig bag. Pick up from London or shipping can be arranged for a fee within the UK. This rare guitar screams shred for anyone wanting to go back to the '80s and 90s and rock those power ballads up to 11! The guitar has an Original Floyd Rose tremolo and the highly desired stock DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker! The body is made of alder for that straight-forward arena rock tone and a very comfortable maple neck/fretboard. Alongside the dimarzio humbucker are two Fender single-coils, and chrome hardware. This Strat is in good condition with good fret life. Tuners have been changed 2 years ago and is in great shape. Also had a full set up and fret crowning by Andy Gibson at Denmark Street a year ago. Pick guard has two tiny holes where a midi pickup used to be. Some marks and dings nothing that affects playability or sound. It’s in great shape considering it’s 28 years old. I can’t find the tremolo bar so you’d probably need to get one. It will probably set you back 3-4 quid. Additional specs are listed below. 3-Tone Sunburst Finish Alder Body Rosewood fretboard “C” Shape Maple Neck 25.5” Scale Length Fender Vintage Single-Coil Neck and Middle Pickups DiMarzio Super Distortion Bridge Humbucker Original Floyd Rose Tremolo Vintage-Style Kluson Tuner

    Out of tune

I changed my Stratocaster strings yesterday’s night and this morning they just won’t hold in tune. I’m a beginner guitarist and I broke my low E string so I decided to change all strings since they were the same for more than one year. I then removed all the old ones and left the Stratocaster without strings for a few days. I wonder if this has something to do with that. Now the new strings (Ernie ball regular slinky; the old ones where fender 09) go out of tune in a few seconds and my bridge keeps getting higher as I tighten them so I’m getting worried. The old ones never had tuning issues. I just hope I haven’t ruined my guitar because there are no guitar technics nearby. Please help.
  6. I am replacing the pick ups that came with the squier over 20 years ago to Seymour Duncan California 50's. I bought new fender split shaft 250k no load pots and also 3 fender 250k solid shafts by mistake. I replaced the pick ups and wired the guitar according to the diagram and no sound is heard through the amp when contact with the pick ups is made. I followed instruction to take the hot wire from a pick up and touch it to the output Jack and you're getting around from the pick up, the same goes for the other 2, not really sure where I'm going wrong as this is my first time doing something like this. I have included some pictures and hopefully someone can help me out thanks

  8. Hi Folks, Having come to the conclusion that the Telecaster is the electric for me I'm disposing of my other electrics. This strat is partly a 1987 Squier Japan and partly replacement parts. The neck, front two pickups, machine heads, most of the screws and the strap buttons are from the Squier strat - neck is the same as the Fender Japan 62 reissue and is stamped ST-362 on the heel. The back of the neck has been stripped for a smoother feel. The body is a 3-piece Alder with a natural finish, bridge pickup is from a Fender USA Highway one, bridge is a Hipshot USA flat tremelo. Scratchplate, backplate and controls are Fender replacement parts. Comes with a Fender strap and a Fender branded basic gigbag. Collection from Edinburgh prefered but postage could be arranged. Thanks Andy
