  1. WITHDRAWN FS, no trades - £650 Hi all, Nipped over from Basschat to post this - feedback over on that site for reference. Here's my 2013 Jaguar for sale as I've trimmed down my stuff a wee bit. A hugely versatile instrument in good condition and includes third party hard case, whammy bar and original scratchplate (tort). Discontinued in 2014 I believe, a well-made MIM guitar with HH / single coil options. There are a few dings and scratches concomitant with its age but nothing serious. Electronics in good condition and life left in the frets. I've gently sanded the neck to make it extra smooth. Please do get in touch if you'd like to take a look / get more info and pictures. Collection in or near Bristol preferred. Thanks for looking
  2. My version is a Kevin Romang cover. The tabs are available free from Phil McGarrick at - https://philmcgarrick.co.uk/dbo_links... I recorded this number using my Fender '57 Stratocaster (57/62 bridge pick up) into Vintage VST Host software, available to download free at - https://vintage-sounds.freeforums.net/
  3. For sale is my Electric XII I bought this for a function band I was fronting, it was used on 3 gigs, 4 songs per gig. The band folded so I've decided to let it go as I won't need it going forward. Only made for a year, in Mexico. These are quite rare butlook fab. Hockey stick headstock seals it for me Great sounding pickup, especailly through my AC30 CC2X Collection is prefered but could meet up half way, depending on distance etc any questions just fire away cheers
  4. Hi everyone, selling my Fender Limited Edition '72 Telecaster Custom with Bigsby in natural finish. This was purchased around 18 months ago and has never left my bedroom. I can't find a single scratch/ding/mark on it, it really looks and plays in as new condition! I'm not hugely keen on letting it go but it's surplus to requirements now so is barely getting played. Also included in sale is a Gator hard case, bit scuffed on the outside but otherwise in good condition. Collection preferred though I may be willing to ship at buyer's expense, please just ask. Thanks for looking, full guitar specs below! Body & Bridge Body: Ash Shape: Telecaster Bridge: Bigsby Construction: Bolt-On Finish: Natural Neck & Fingerboard Neck: Maple Profile: ''C'' Shape Scale Length: 25.5 Fingerboard: Maple Radius: 7.25'' Frets: 21 Vintage Style Inlays: Black Dots Nut: Synthetic Bone Nut Width: 1.650'' Electronics & Hardware Bridge Pickup: Classic Series Single-Coil Tele Neck Pickup: Fender ''Wide Range'' Humbucker Controls: 2 x Volume, 2 x Tone Switching: 3-Position Toggle Position 1: Bridge Pickup Position 2: Bridge & Neck Pickups Position 3: Neck Pickup Tuning Machines: Fender Vintage ‘’F’’ Stamped Control Knobs: Skirted Amp Knobs Pickguard: 3-Ply Black Neck Plate: 3-Bolt ‘’F’’ Stamped w/Micro-Tilt Truss Rod: Bullet Style Hardware: Chrome
  5. I'm selling my fairly recently acquired 1987 Fender Japan '62 Reissue Strat to raise funds for a Bass purchase. I'm going to concentrate on my bass playing for a while and I'm really just not a Strat guy, if I'm honest. It's a 1987 STD-62, from the acclaimed Fujigen factory in Japan, in "Vintage White", though the colour presents more as "Butterscotch". Serial number is E713105. Price reduced to £725. A bargain!! This guitar is unmolested, with original electronics and hardware, other than a new nut that was installed a few months ago and an additional tremolo spring. It plays superbly, with a nice low action and was professionally set up by Torbay Guitar Repairs at the same time as having the nut replaced (with a hand cut bone nut). The pickups are Alnico, as you can see from the pictures. The fingerboard has lovely rolled edges and the frets are in really good condition. The build quality on this guitar is superb, as are the tones. I've got it set up with Rotosound 10s and the bridge is currently "decked". Condition-wise, it's by no means pristine and bares some battle scars. It won't appeal to anyone into mint, just out the box guitars. This one has had a life and is displaying just the right amount of patina for a 35 year old instrument. It's also by no means "heavily relic'd" either. It's a lovely instrument, but it's just not "me" at this point in time, so I'm letting it go to someone who will play it. I would be open to trades for a similarly priced Precision Bass. Comes with the original 80's gig bag. I would prefer not to post the guitar, as I have no hardcase or packaging but I would be happy to meet somewhere, within reason. Cheers, Chris.

  8. Hi I started playing cheap copy guitars in my teens and finally treated myself to a USA fender strat sunburst maple neck , playing through a Marloboro? amp - a rebranded Gibson solid state amp - it was a great combination for the covers band I was playing in , amp was stolen and guitar gathered dust under a bed whilst i got on with life , kids etc . 15 years later I picked up the strat again and bought a marshall JTM30 2X10 combo amp , played it for a few years , but could not get the sound I was after so traded the strat for a Gibson Nighthawk standard 2 pick up , played for a few more years then bought an Acoustic a Guild dreadnought DV-52 - tried martin Gibson and other top acoustics but this was the one i fell in love with - and is still my favourite. A few years later I auditioned for a band and was pleased to be taken on , i played with my Nighthawk and the Marshall , and whilst the combination worked well for rehearsals , when I pushed the volume for gigs I could not get a good clean sound , after a lot of searching and trying I bought a second hand Mesa Boogie mark IV - a truly flexible amp all the sound you need at almost any volume . I was called upon to play amplified acoustic so put a Baggs pick up on the Guild and bought an AER 60 to cover the amplification duties , I got a bit precious about the Guild so bought a Crafter electro acoustic for band duties and a Fishman Aura pedal to deal with any feedback issues and to model the acoustic sound. I had always wanted a Les Paul and bought a Classic 1960, I used it at rehearsals occasionally but never for gigs. I used this set up in the band for a number of years , but found the weight of the Mesa too much , so bough a Mesa express 5:25 1X10 and only used the Mark IV for outdoor or large gigs. On a whim I bought a Gibson Les Paul acoustic (yes really) , thinking I would use it for gigs , but the Crafter produced a more authentic acoustic guitar sound so i continued to use that. Over 15 years or so we did many gigs and moved through a number genres but the band folded a few years ago and I have yet to find a new band to join. I have always enjoyed Jazz and wanted to learn how to play so looked out for a Jazz Guitar , I bought a Japanese Vestax D'angelico NYL-2 - it had the Jazz guitar sound I had in my head , played this for a couple of years but found the body size a bit large , and was recommended a fender D'aquisto Elite and eventually these two guitars through the Mesa and AER ( both have great clean Jazz sounds) are my main go to guitars. So here I am at the autumn of my playing life - but still loving it and I thought I could give some advice and words of wisdom It is emotionally easier to buy gear than it is to sell - GAS is real - although i do realise that I am going to have to thin the herd Don't buy on a whim, research and try to find the guitar set up that gives you the sound and feel you want - read advice on forums You do not have to spend a lot to get a good sound In the hands of a good guitarist a poor guitar can still sound great , but a great guitar will only sound great if you get your skills to the right level - its all about practice If you are not happy with a guitar or amp for example , there are always a number of cheap tweaks you can do , valves, pickups, strings etc again read advice on forums The best way to improve your playing and enjoyment is to play with others - try different genres - it all about learning. A great way to improve your skill is to play along to the radio - try to accompany whatever track they play its great practice for improving your ear If you are not enjoying it , stop and think how you could do it differently and more enjoyably. Best wishes Alby
  9. Super Rare 1992 American Fender Stratocaster HSS Floyd Rose. Rock Dream! No hardcase but it’ll come with a brand new thick foam gig bag. Pick up from London or shipping can be arranged for a fee within the UK. This rare guitar screams shred for anyone wanting to go back to the '80s and 90s and rock those power ballads up to 11! The guitar has an Original Floyd Rose tremolo and the highly desired stock DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker! The body is made of alder for that straight-forward arena rock tone and a very comfortable maple neck/fretboard. Alongside the dimarzio humbucker are two Fender single-coils, and chrome hardware. This Strat is in good condition with good fret life. Tuners have been changed 2 years ago and is in great shape. Also had a full set up and fret crowning by Andy Gibson at Denmark Street a year ago. Pick guard has two tiny holes where a midi pickup used to be. Some marks and dings nothing that affects playability or sound. It’s in great shape considering it’s 28 years old. I can’t find the tremolo bar so you’d probably need to get one. It will probably set you back 3-4 quid. Additional specs are listed below. 3-Tone Sunburst Finish Alder Body Rosewood fretboard “C” Shape Maple Neck 25.5” Scale Length Fender Vintage Single-Coil Neck and Middle Pickups DiMarzio Super Distortion Bridge Humbucker Original Floyd Rose Tremolo Vintage-Style Kluson Tuner
  10. Beautiful guitar, with Humbucker in the neck. Joe bonamassa tele of choice. This one was selected from 8 guitars sent to newcastle from guitar guitar shops all around the country. Selected for resonance, sustain and sparkle. This one won hands down. It’s good as new with very little use. Selling to fund home improvements as I’m more of a strat guy. It’s genuinely a great guitar IMG_1787.MOV
  11. Did you buy a new Fender or Squier online between 2013-2018? You could be due a refund. Hi, I am working on building a legal class action against Fender who were recently fined £4.5M for price fixing by the competitions watchdog (CMA) for their online guitar sale practices https://www.gov.uk/government/news/guitar-maker-fined-4-5m-for-illegally-preventing-price-discounts. What Fender Europe did was prevent UK online retailers from setting their own prices, so that many people that purchased a Fender online overpaid. If successful, it means that you could be due a cash refund worth hundreds of pounds. At this stage, I am just looking to see if anyone would be interested in receiving further information about the action. If so, please can you message me or reply to post. This would be a No Win No Fee service, so would not cost you anything. Many thanks

    Out of tune

I changed my Stratocaster strings yesterday’s night and this morning they just won’t hold in tune. I’m a beginner guitarist and I broke my low E string so I decided to change all strings since they were the same for more than one year. I then removed all the old ones and left the Stratocaster without strings for a few days. I wonder if this has something to do with that. Now the new strings (Ernie ball regular slinky; the old ones where fender 09) go out of tune in a few seconds and my bridge keeps getting higher as I tighten them so I’m getting worried. The old ones never had tuning issues. I just hope I haven’t ruined my guitar because there are no guitar technics nearby. Please help.
  13. I am replacing the pick ups that came with the squier over 20 years ago to Seymour Duncan California 50's. I bought new fender split shaft 250k no load pots and also 3 fender 250k solid shafts by mistake. I replaced the pick ups and wired the guitar according to the diagram and no sound is heard through the amp when contact with the pick ups is made. I followed instruction to take the hot wire from a pick up and touch it to the output Jack and you're getting around from the pick up, the same goes for the other 2, not really sure where I'm going wrong as this is my first time doing something like this. I have included some pictures and hopefully someone can help me out thanks
  14. I've just come into possession of a more home friendly Fender Princeton Reverb II, the younger brother of this amp. I bought it about 2 years ago but haven't had a chance to play it as I've been out of the country. It's been looked after by Ped until I got around to collect it and ship it with other stuff out to China. Features include: 1) Point to point hand wired, amongst the last amps to come out of the Fender factory like this 2) 60w available from 3x 6L6 power tubes, the usual 12AX7's in the preamp section 3) 2 channel footswitchable preamp with reverb, presence for both channels 4) Ch 1 - bass, treb + volume with bright boost 5) Ch 2 - bass, mid, treb, gain + volume with mid boost 6) Stock 12" speaker replaced with an Eminence. Will need to confirm the exact model but it's probably the biggest improvement in terms of bang for buck. 7) Transformer is set up for 240v AC mains. Great cleans - classic Fender with thick mids and chimey highs. It takes pedals well according to other owners. PDF version of the user manual is available here: http://www.stratopastor.org.uk/strato/amps/twoseriesfenders/Concert%20%281982%29.pdf Can't really ship it due to weight so collection in the western vicinity of York preferred.
  15. Hi Folks, Having come to the conclusion that the Telecaster is the electric for me I'm disposing of my other electrics. This strat is partly a 1987 Squier Japan and partly replacement parts. The neck, front two pickups, machine heads, most of the screws and the strap buttons are from the Squier strat - neck is the same as the Fender Japan 62 reissue and is stamped ST-362 on the heel. The back of the neck has been stripped for a smoother feel. The body is a 3-piece Alder with a natural finish, bridge pickup is from a Fender USA Highway one, bridge is a Hipshot USA flat tremelo. Scratchplate, backplate and controls are Fender replacement parts. Comes with a Fender strap and a Fender branded basic gigbag. Collection from Edinburgh prefered but postage could be arranged. Thanks Andy
  16. All pedals are boxed and are in excellent condition. The box for the Top Fuel is a bit bashed, but all the other boxes are in good nick. UK and PayPal only. No part exchanges or trades as I'm getting rid of all my pedals. Prices including shipping from Northern Ireland. Tracking number will be supplied and signature will be required upon delivery. As I'm a new member here and no one really knows me, you can check out my feedback on eBay and on thefretboard.co.uk. Although I advertised the total price, I am selling each pedal individually.
