Hi, i am looking to buy a semi hollow or hollow electric guitar. I need a guitar that has low action as i have osteoarthritis & cant put too much pressure on the fret. Please could you advise brand guitar to look at.
Thanks

I have Arthur-itus too, I've ended up with a wide necked guitar (9mm string spacing like a dreadnought ) just to get my fingers to do a string each, in a non plague world I would say go try some, which is the ideal way forward. I think your quest is on hold for a bit short of buying summat blind and having it delivered.

Hi. As an ancient guitar nerd in lockdown......as are many of us...... thought it time to do some maintenance on my guitars. You may note from my profile picture that I'm a bass player, although, now days spend more time spreading my lack of talent to the 6 string lead instrument. I write and record (for fun) mostly instrumental ditties and I have a terrible singing voice. All good fun. H

Thanks fella, since I kicked this flatwound thing off I've sold my lemon burst gibson les paul and my burns steer. Podgy bass playing fingers won't cope with all those 'iccle strings so close together. Having a guitar built from scratch with a 52mm nut, 9mm string spacing, it is 10mm on my basses so this is my last shot at getting back into guitar playing. But, I still want flatwounds so all the questions still stand. I use flats on my basses, most come from strings direct so I might pump them for info, but all I have found out for myself is what most of us have learned, they give a jazzy tone, when I want them to be a Gary Moore tone. Plenty time yet I guess
